Jacques Fourie (AKA Guns) is one of those talented Swipers and, in 2022, he celebrates his fifth year with us. Guns is 100% consistent and reliable. You can always count on him to give it his all. How did you find your way to being a frontend developer?
A short version of a long and not very interesting story would be that I went from building construction sites to building websites.
What motivates or inspires you career wise?
Finding a way to solve a problem or overcome a challenge is what motivates me to carry on!
Why do you love working at Swipe?
It’s definitely threefold: the people, the culture and the work.
What words do you live by?
Keeping to the theme of problem solving and hard work, my favourite quote is: “I don’t stop when I’m tired; I stop when I’m done” – by David Goggins.
Guns is exploring quite a few hobbies right now, including finally managing to do handstand push-ups, and leading his team to defeat in foosball!
